CASUAL SWIMMING TEACHER

Salary Scale:

Level 1 Spinal Point 25 – currently £11.63 per hour

Level 2  Spinal Point 31 – currently £14.20 per hour

We are looking for Swimming Teachers qualified to ASA Level 1 or 2 to deliver high quality lessons as part of our successful learn to swim programme at the Park Leisure Centre. The post is offered on a casual basis – as and when required.

We run an extensive swimming lesson programme catering for all ages and abilities. Lessons take place on Saturday & Sunday mornings from 9.00am to 12noon (excluding the half term week) and normally run for either 11 or 12 weeks. In addition we also run crash courses during the school holidays.

You must hold as a minimum requirement an Assistant ASA Teachers Certificate and preferably a Full ASA or STA Teachers Certificate. You must also be passionate about swimming, enthusiastic and highly motivated and possess excellent communication skills, especially with children. In addition, you must be able to provide evidence of preparing written work plans/programmes that meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and ASA Learn to Swim Framework and have a good knowledge and professional understanding of current good practice in teaching swimming.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be eligible to apply to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration of their criminal record history and apply for an Enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure Barring Service prior to appointment.

 

CASUAL TRAMPOLINING & GYMNASTICS COACHES

Salary Scale: Spinal Point 28 (currently £12.81 per hour)

Casual positions to cover School Holiday courses and term time evening classes

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Trampolining and Gymnastics coaches to join our team at The Park Leisure Centre.

You must hold a Level 2 or 3 coaching qualification in either discipline. Experience of working with people with disabilities would be an advantage.

It is essential that you have specific knowledge of Trampolining / Gymnastics programmes, instruction, and equipment and understand the same principles in Health and Safety.
