Free Swimming at The Park

From Wednesday 1st April 2009 all people 'aged 16 and under and over 60' will be able to swim for free at the Park Leisure Centre during public swimming times.

Free swimming applies to the Public Swim Times for Recreation Swimming as identified on the swimming timetable and also the 'Programmed Swim Sessions' with the exception of Aquarobics, as this is an instructor led activity and falls outside of the free swimming scheme. Similarly swimming lessons, canoeing and snorkelling courses are not included in the scheme.

The initiative is a key part of plans to leave a lasting legacy from London 2012 giving people up and down the Country more opportunities to get active. Getting people more active is vital to the health of the nation and to tackling the obesity crisis.
