Sports Hall

Our Sports Hall can be used for a wide variety of sports and activities.

Available activities may be structured as complete sessions or can be booked for individual court hire. The Sports Hall is 6 badminton courts in size with various courts and pitches marked out on a multi-surface Granwood™ floor. It is also used for football, badminton, short tennis, rollerskating, climbing and netball. Gymnastics and trampolining sessions are also popular. At weekends the hall is available to hire for childrens parties (please see relevant details for parties).

Rollerskating

There is a roller disco every Saturday at 1.30pm until 2.30pm. Additional disco's are held on Wednesdays during school holidays.

Prices: The roller disco costs £1.50 per person including skate hire. However, if in-line skates are prefered, there is an extra charge of £1.00.

Badminton and Short Tennis Courts

The courts are available to hire in 45min sessions. Courts must be booked in advance to avoid dissapointment. You can book up to 8 days in advance to secure your court.

Prices: 

Peak £5.40 without leisure card £3.80 with leisure card £2.70 Junior/Senior
Off Peak £3.50 without leisure card £2.40 with leisure card £2.20 Junior/Senior

Indoor Football and Netball

Indoor pitches are available to hire in 45 minute sessions. The activity must be booked in advance to avoid dissapointment. You can book up to 8 days in advance to secure your session.

Prices: £27.90 adult.  £13.00 Junior/Senior

Climbing Wall

A well kept secret! – We have an excellent climbing wall and boulder wall in our sports hall. You are welcome to come and use it as long as you bring your own equipment and sign our proficient user form. The prices for individual use are for a 45minute session - Booking is not always essential.

Prices: £2.20 without leisure card.  £1.60 with leisure card.  £1.40 Junior/Senior

Children's Gymnastics

Gymnastic coaching is held on Wednesdays during school term time. The sessions are at 4.15pm and 5pm. Other short courses are available during school holidays. Please ask at reception for further details regarding prices and availablity on these courses as they are very popular and places are very limited.

Karate

Kentai Karate is a Wado-rye based style of karate covering both traditional and sport karate that can be practised as an art, hobby, sport, physical fitness activity or an effective self defence. Both men and women instructors and students have won or been placed in Northern and National competitions – combat (kumite) and non-combat (kata).

Regular total beginners courses – separate adult classes are taken by Jonathan Little. Jonathan is registered as a senior instructor with the English Governing Body ( the only karate governing body recognised by the sports council). Jonathan is also qualified as an exercise instructor, so be assured of safe and progressive instruction.
